[DnD Com] Evander Faire a Dhampir Pact Wizard.

Commission done.

Character Name: Evander Faire
Gender: Male
Race: Dhampir
Class: Pact Wizard
Personality: If Ev was in a universe where patronuses were a thing, his would be a hedgehog. He's a prickly, touchy, sullen ball of nursed hurt and upset who pushes everyone away from him to avoid getting hurt and protect his vulnerable, anxiety-riddled, self-esteem lacking vulnerable core. Kenabres is a city founded by and run by crusaders and zealous paladins of clerics of several hard-line lawful good militant deities with a stance of 'suffer no evil to live' -- in the middle of a holy war against a demon invasion. Growing up in the middle of that as vampire-spawn, especially one who can't stand on holy ground or touch holy water without burning? Not a fun time. At the best end, he was fairly heavily isolated. With a happy family life, that may have been tolerable, however his father died before he was born and his mother vanished on an expedition into the Worldwound for the Riftwardens, he was left with a foster family who really would have preferred he wasn't there problem, but were also bound by his paladin foster-mother's honour and vow to keep him. While he was provided for in terms of food, education, general living etc, his emotional needs were very much neglected. It wasn't until he was a young adult and returned to his mother's family in Cheliax, attending University there, that he really found any sort of tolerance.

Currently, he's in the 'hurt and angry about it' stage of learning to cope, where... he's not really coping at all and is mostly a raw wound lashing out at people around him. He has the power hungry drawback, wanting to be powerful enough that people can't hurt him again (and a bit of 'pay them back') though his overall arc is geared towards healing those wounds and getting past them, even if they always leave some sort of scar. He's desperate to find a sense of belonging and acceptance - when he sold his soul to Mephistopheles, the first clause he demanded was help in finding his mother, who most believe dead (despite having initiated the deal out of fear of his own impending death), and clings tightly onto his father's journals. He's currently in the middle of a tug-of-war between desperately wanting to be someone his mother would have been proud of and the more primal pull of attraction towards his vampire Sire and the understanding of certain things that who else is going to be able to understand? Besides, if people are going to label you a monster regardless, then why not be one... right?
